Consecration Sunday

Feb 1, 2026    Pastor Wayne Frye

This powerful message invites us into a deeper understanding of consecration—not as a one-time event, but as a daily decision that fuels our spiritual assignment. Drawing from Philippians 2:12-16 and Romans 12:1, we're challenged to recognize that our physical hunger during fasting mirrors the spiritual hunger God desires from us. Just as we eagerly prepare meals and count down minutes until we can eat, are we equally passionate about meeting with God?

The sermon reveals a profound truth: consecration provides the platform for our assignment. The deeper we go in our dedication to God, the greater the impact we can have. Like bridge supports that must be dug deep into solid ground to carry weight for decades, our spiritual foundation must go beyond surface-level commitment. We're called to separate ourselves not only from sin and worldly influences but also to separate ourselves unto God—His presence, His Word, His purposes. This isn't about religious performance; it's about becoming vessels set apart, fit and ready for any good work God has prepared.

The message confronts us with honest questions: Are we more sensitive to people's opinions than to the Holy Spirit? Do our lives show visible evidence of transformation? As we navigate an expanded assignment in this season, we need multiplied grace—but we also need deeper consecration.

Today is the day to delete old versions of ourselves, making room to fully experience the new life Christ offers.
